Read yourself to creativity

Dear Creative Soul, I have a shelf in my library that contains all the books that inspire me to be creative. I can consult it every time I need inspiration, every time I’m stuck, every time I feel like I have nothing to create. It never fails to inspire me. If you created such a shelf, what books would be in it? What would you add and why? What books don’t make the cut? And why? Gather up the books you’ve picked. Change their order, shuffle them around, create categories. Add post-it notes to pages with quotes that hit home, and underline the most important sentences. You could even keep a notebook for the shelf where you copy these quotes. And then when you’re stuck, just grab one of the books that calls to you and read it. And then? Create.
