Three were chosen. The Keeper of Wisdom, our guide. The Keeper of Courage, our defender. The Keeper of Power, our strength. In harmony, the three would lead us ever forward, envisioning bright tomorrows, building toward them, and defending them from evil. But evil is cunning, patient, and persistent. Whispers caught at the keeper of power. Dark temptations drew him away. Where once peace ruled, war raged, a war not even death could end. In their hubris, the gods had made their chosen ones eternal, resurrected age after age after age to plunge the land into turmoil again and again. The last war ended 1,000 years ago.
