Marchwood Modellers exhibition 2026

Whilst I spent the morning getting a new kettle for the church, decoking the church coffee machine and then gardening at home, the lads went to the Marchwood show. Lots of narrow gauge on show, mostly OO9. The very clever Sandy Shores. Wheal Kate, a Cornish tin mine on two levels with a working beam engine. Wickhambreux Road, a station, on the fictitious Canterbury Light Railway, set in the late 1930s. Winter in France, 1914-18. Rather larger, Crackington Quay in 7mm NG. And the other scales…. I liked Exton Quay (OO), 1930’s Southern with an interesting curved track plan. The lovely Penworth – Pendon in ‘N’. Sarah’s Falls, Canadian ‘N’. Foxes Sidings (O), a preserved railway where heritage meets industry. It does what it says on the can…. U Shunt in O gauge. And finally, less is more! Penny Lane.
