60 is a weird age 0 ▲ Thoughts of Widdershins 2 days ago · Life · hide · 0 comments So I was browsing the fediverse and one of the ways I do that is solely by hashtags that represent things I am interested in or drawn to. So, I looked up #middleaged. But that got me thinking. I am 60. Am I "middle aged" or am I a "senior" now? So, somethings say middle age is roughly 40-60/65 and a senior begins at 55 and (from what I have seen) 60 at most places. So, I don't really know where I fall in. A lot of days, yeah, I feel like a senior. I'm tired often and naps are now essential, I move slower, wear out easier, etc. Some days I think I am still 40. Loading/unloading band gear, playing gigs until 1am, helping my son move things, etc. Then my body screams loudly, "dude, you are not 40 anymore!" Another thing is that there’s also a big generational difference in how 60 feels today. A 60-year-old who is working full-time, playing music, going to school, traveling, maintaining hobbies, etc. doesn't fit the stereotypical image people often attach to “senior citizen.” That… No comments yet.
