This isn’t an installation guide, more an aggregated post of various tips and ideas. Essential tooling We use the Kid3 audio tagger for editing track metadata and cleaning up filenames. It’s free, cross platform, and works well. We sometimes use Musicbrains Picard as well to help identify tracks. Our music server runs on a Samba share, so we edit them directly, then move them into the appropriate folders for Navidrome. I use the EyeD3 tool on the command line for batch processing podcast audio, and you can run Picard on the server as well. But the graphical applications are much easier. Updating albums This is the only aspect of running Navidrome I find underwhelming, but we have a workaround that that works for us. If you want to update an album’s metadata, move it out of Navidrome first. In navidrome.toml, define Scanner.PurgeMissing="always". This will delete albums from its… No comments yet.
