First Truss Landed 0 ▲ Nice Marmot 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments I guess Apple had an event today. I knew one was coming, but I hadn't made any sort of mental note about it. That space is reserved for the premier episode of the next season of Slow Horses, which is unfortunately still a week away. Nope, while the lickspittle sycophants at Apple were pushing their latest shiny gadgets that host spyware for retailers, governments and bad actors, I was watching the roof trusses being delivered, and the first truss being landed on the west gable. It was kind of a stressful event, because the weather was predicted to be rainy with gusty winds starting about 1:00PM. It started to sprinkle while they were wrestling the truss up there, but the wind remained pretty mild. They had the truss up and secured before 1100. As it turned out, we had very little rain and no wind to speak of this afternoon. Tomorrow they'll finish cutting and stacking the ICF, and doing the bracing and reinforcement necessary before the pour on Friday. They'll also pour the footers… No comments yet.
