But rarely do the writers then go on to articulate what is taking or has taken its place, the presumption being that if “we all do” the appropriate things, that this situation can be rescued and things will return to ‘normal’. But there is no power vacuum in the modern world. Simply stated, we are all living under a permanent dictatorship of corporate billionaires, lobbyists, and interest groups.
