The top of the fence is also a well used "cat path". If it's overgrown then the cats are unable to go about their regular business i.e. getting out of the garden. That causes disquiet. Cats like to follow set and established routes within their own territory. They are unwilling to compromise on this. So it follows that I must tend to the fast growing ivy and tame it as best I can, even in the rain. Ivy makes me cough and sneeze for some reason but my health and welfare is not their concern. Anyway now the ivy has been cut back so I can move on with various other…
