Today I learned about The Sunday Letter Project. Started in September 2025 by owners of a stationery shop, it invites us to pledge to write one handwritten letter every Sunday to friends, loved ones, strangers, or ourself. The purposes of this project are: to foster human connection, promote personal balance, and preserve the experience of letter writing for future generations. They have also established a network of stationery shops, book stores, and libraries that function as a pen pal service that protects the privacy of the correspondents. I love this idea and it reminds me of a similar project: The World Needs More Love Letters, which I have known about for many years and in which I participate on occasion. I decided to take The Sunday Letter Project pledge, although I'm slightly rewording it for my own use.
