Day 207: Military Fort of the Past

2026-09-01Hello! September will be the month of street photography for me, I hope. I know it usually includes faces and happenstance moments. Just have to set things up down the line to allow for such opportunities.I found this concrete passageway and found the leading lines of the rails to make for a good composition. The place also has some history, but the remains of this site are detached from the original use of the area as a strategic military position for the US.The image has some constrast loss in the top-right corner where the sun was, but it almost makes this image look more old-timey with its classic monochrome. I wonder how similar it looks to a light bleed on film photography. Combined with an abandoned military pit as its subject, this could serve as a picture for historical record.The bug spray I was using that day had a lemon scent, which I'm not sure is as effective as the chemical compounds in name-brand bug spray.
