I recently posted about the build of my “A Pint Near Me” app. When I had finished the build I asked Claude “Can you give me a few interesting stats from the pubs data?” The most 5 common names? How many single name pubs (ie not repeated)? Any regional patterns in naming? Anything else? Top 5 most common pub names Red Lion — 489 Royal Oak — 402 White Hart — 254 Crown — 251 White Horse — 222 Ignoring “The” One-off names 23,108 of 49,439 named pubs (46.7%) have a name that appears nowhere else in the whole dataset — genuinely unique out of 27,125 distinct names in total. Odd fact: 502 pubs on OSM have no name tag at all.
