Happy Birthday, Star Trek

View this post on Instagram As I note in the Instagram post above, I have a particular reason to celebrate the existence of Star Trek: Without it, I wouldn’t have written Redshirts, or at least, if I had written something like it, it would have had a rather different grounding and a very different existence. A different name, to be sure. But even without that obvious personal connection, the franchise has enriched my life, and the lives of millions of others, over the six decades it’s been around. I’m glad it’s been around for us all. May it continue to live long and prosper. — JS
