It was probably in 1975 when Mom threw a party for the neighborhood kids, just for the fun of it. I see Robyn and Tammy and Brian and Michael; Sally and Sherrie and Jay; Angie and Denise and Laurie. I feel sorry for the girl directly behind me in the middle, as her identity is forever lost. That’s my brother next to me. And then there’s David, Craig, and the other David. But where’s Darin, both Dawns, Mike, Shannon, Rachel, Christy, Eric, Angie, Muffy, and Colleen? I’m forgetting the names of other kids from the neighborhood. There were 31 of them! I’m still connected with several of these kids thanks to Facebook. When I shared the photo there it opened up a lot of terrific reminiscence for us. That neighborhood was a pretty darn terrific place to be a kid in the 1970s. Tomorrow I’ll re-run a story about this neighborhood, which the adults nicknamed Rabbit Hill. Then on Thursday I’ll re-run a story about the end of summer on the Hill, and what it felt like. I’m just feeling nostalgic…
