A week from today I have the big quarterly checkup at the hospital again, and that had me really nervous this morning. I don’t like to dwell on those feelings. Thankfully, I’ve learned to deal with them: follow my two step plan to free myself of those jitters. Step 1 - find calm I just got up, walked to the bathroom, and as I washed my hands, I looked into the mirror I told myself I’m okay, and that I’m going to be okay. I took a couple of deep breaths, and then came here to write this with a smile on my face. Another way I calm myself down is reminding myself I’m not in control. I remind myself don’t have any control over the results, except keeping on doing what I already do to take the best care of my body. Step 2 - fill up with joy And after I calm down, I do what I love, every time. Right now the thing I love to do is write my thoughts on my blog.
