A Neovim kerfuffle, and looking at Vim

The kerfuffle, abbreviated: DHH appears to leaning pretty far to the right when it comes to … oh you know, white supremacy and stuff. Neat. There was a DHH quote on the Neovim website. Some people objected to it, and the lead Neovim maintainer didn’t take it well. I’m now seeing posts like these: tea’s Switching from Neovim to Vim Leilukin’s Moving Away from Neovim s/Neovim/Helix/g (not sure how to refer to the author … Marius?) I don’t have the emotional calories to burn on this, though I did just enough digging to validate that DHH has said some problematic things and that the Neovim guy did seem to shit the bed in that GitHub thread (though I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for now and assume he was just having a bad day). None of this is yet enough to make me swear off Neovim, but it did make me realize that I’d never actually considered using ye olde Vim. So I decided to look into it just for funsies.
