If my memory serves me right, One More Chance was the biggest Filipino film back in the late 2000s. Everyone was talking about how they loved it, how they cried watching it, how they’d rewatch it over and over, and all that jazz. The more I hear about it, the less interested I am. Sometimes popularity makes me skeptical about a film. Is it really that palatable for everyone? So I watched it, and it wasn’t for me. When I first watched it, I thought to myself, maybe I just wasn’t the target audience. The film is about love and moving on from a long-term relationship, I didn’t have that. I never had a boyfriend at that time, so I don’t have an ex that I’m hung up on. That’s probably why I didn’t connect to it the way most people did, but I’m curious to know how so many people connected to it the way they did.
