Reconnecting with my poetry again

I wrote a poem this morning, a poem filled with longing to write poetry. It’s one of many. This is the poem: I seek quietbetween these linessolace within breathcalm withinthe hum of wordsfalling into placethe confident energyof a poem, written You see, after my diagnosis and healing journey after, poetry doesn’t find me as easily anymore. I’m working on finding calm again so poetry can come back. Poems like the one above are a sign of it returning. It shows my voice again, even if the subject is continuously the same. I wrote a long form poem the other day, and a poem about autumn. This is a sign that by writing about my longing for poetry brings it back to me. What a blessing!
