Wick – Moss Variation: Week 7, 7 September

The only incident of note this week was the regular visit to the practice nurse. The vestiges of the surgical bandage had finally washed out, leaving what feels like a rather large bald patch and two stitches. The nurse easily snipped and pulled out the stitches, and congratulated me again on the state of the wound. She also hoped my hair would grow back, with which I heartily concur. But best of all, after 24 hours to allow the holes from the stitches to close, I would be able to bare my head to the winds, to quote a friend. Ten Years Ago: North Baths, Wick While at the surgery, I asked the nurse if there had been a letter regarding the pathology results of what had been excised. I’d asked at reception the week before, but nothing had come in. The nurse kindly looked it up on the computer, and found that a letter had come in, which she printed out. The consultant in Inverness has given the all clear, saying the results were reassuring and that no further treatment is necessary. But…
