It's 21:34 and I'm pondering about my son's upcoming 6th birthday. Just a few minutes earlier, he was watching and the next thing I know, he's already asleep. He'll be missing our bedtime story tonight. Looking at him, it amuses me how fast he's grown. It's making me glad and a bit sad. I can't help but think, that in just a couple of years, things won't be the same. I have to admit that the situation he's in isn't ideal. But I have been trying my best to be a good parent. I want to be present for him. I want to be his provider. I want to earn his trust. I want to be a good role model. Sooner or later, he will want more time away. He'll stop asking for every little thing. He'll have his own friends, his own interests, his own world to come home from. He'll grow up and begin figuring out who he is. So as much as possible, I will cherish every moment with him. I will provide him the best life I can offer. I will prepare him for the next chapter whenever that might be. Because in a blink…
