The Skeg, part 2

At the end of the last post, I’d been slowly laminating strips to wood to build up the skeg. This wasn’t a terribly exciting process, although I did have to get creative in clamping. The end result was this: Remember how I’d said that my decision to not glue the skeg to the boat during the lamination process was “unorthodox?” Turns out, I’m pretty happy with that choice, as shaping the skeg would have been much harder if it’d been permanently attached to the boat from the get-go.
