In contrast to the premium but challenging Leica M Monochrome I used last night, I have an entirely different camera for this morning’s observations. I’ve already featured pictures from the Fujifilm X Half a few times in this series. The X Half is a toy-like camera with a distinctly non-toy-like price of $850. It’s small, cute, and playful. However, I wasn’t crazy about the image quality. Despite its comparatively large 1-inch sensor, the pictures were only so-so. I added an in-camera film grain effect to help disguise some of the image shortcomings. The camera tends to expose on the darker side, and even more so in these pictures because I had the exposure set to a darker mode. I was hoping this would keep the brighter parts of the picture from overexposing while allowing for some rudimentary post-processing with this JPEG-only camera. The resulting… No comments yet.
