Sunday Asides #111 Y'all...this week took me OUT. The full-time job offer that I verbally accepted last week is dragging its feet on giving me a start date and a signed offer letter, but they're already putting client meetings on my calendar and expecting full-time availability. Meanwhile, at the other part-time gig that I have, they've decided (mostly out of spite) that they need to ramp up their content marketing for the end of the year. I'd like to go ahead and put in my resignation, but after examining my contract with them, I'd have to give them two weeks notice, send a physical resignation letter via certified mail, AND I'm still on the hook to finish any work I started prior to my resignation date. The longer it takes me to resign, the more indebted I am to them. It's not the clean break I'd prefer, but it does mean I can get more money out of them.
