End of Harvest Drink

The harvest actually ended last week, and Glorious Grasslands spent this week weighing and sorting seed in the barn prior to the spreading which starts next week. So a drinks celebration was called for, and after some back and forth on the WhatsApp group, we settled on the Old Inn, Fossebridge at 4pm. It was actually pretty chilly, especially compared to recent weeks, but we chose to sit in the garden anyway. I suppose we are an outdoor team. There were 10 of us altogether and I hadn’t seen most all summer so a good chance to catch up on the latest. Tom and Anna arrived last after checking out a site that will need doing near Corsham – quite a long way down. The final total of seed collected was 2,500kg, which will be ample to meet this years sowing targets. A slightly different distribution methodology this year where regional mixes were created (so fields from the same area were mixed together). As ever, there was lots of good banter.
