Today I mowed the soccer field at the "community center" where I volunteer. With a push mower. 🥵 As a kid, I spent a lot of time mowing on our family Christmas tree farm. I enjoy it (although a riding mower is better than a push mower). You can see your progress. And, it requires limited focus so there is plenty of time to think. Today, while mowing, I reflected on the past week: On Tuesday, I spoke to a good friend who is Haitian-American. He now lives in the United States, but when he was in Haiti I visited him regularly (Port-au-Prince). We discussed the recent revocation of temporary protective status for Haitians. This is truly a travesty. My friend was in Haiti just a few weeks ago (work travel) and the situation is horrific. He told me I would not recognize Port-au-Prince due to the violence and unrest.
