Creativity Sealed Away…

Mimesis (greek): the principle of imitating formless qualities within the realm of form. To encode divine presence into the material world. I went back to a place long forgotten and demolished. Underneath, though, was a labyrinth of dark water ways long sealed away and welded shut. I removed the welds, opened the gates to the darkness…and descended. There in the dark abyss I floated about waiting to see what lay in wait. I’ve been giving much thought as of late to my relationship to creativity. Perhaps a next step on my journey of self discovery. I feel a burning desire to create; a surge of energy but I don’t know where to direct it; so I numb it with cigars and television shows. Telling myself that it’s okay, I’m just trying to figure it all out. I jump from idea to idea, rarely finishing anything, searching; reaching for what I am ‘meant’ to do, but I find only confusion. How can I have come so far, and not even know what to do now? At first I thought I needed to find out ‘what’ I…
