Bandcamp Friday

Another Bandcamp Friday has came and went and of course, purchases were made. Last time out I bought a bunch of death metal albums that had been in my wish list or that were recommended to me. This time I didn’t have much time to go through and find stuff or check out much from my own release list because it was a crazy chaotic day. So I opted instead to buy two albums I love from a band that I wanted to support. Although they have a terrible name, Spanish Love Songs are a wonderful band. Modern Emo but with songs about daily struggle, mental health and poverty rather than romantic relationships. Extremely relatable. I bought their albums Schmaltz, which is one of my all time favourite albums and the follow up Brave Faces Everyone. I think a lot of people struggle with the vocals and I understand that, he does often sound like he’s singing whilst on a ladder that’s being shook but if you can get past that, there are some great songs.
