This post is entirely inspired by Rachel Maksy’s video she posted yesterday: my complete ineptitude to do a new to me yarn craft: nålebinding. This morning the headline of a triumphant article shouted at me that OpenAI now has created human intelligence or something stupid like that. I didn’t read it as I had something more important to do: shopping for wooden needles for my newly discovered hobby: nålebinding or nalbinding or needle binding. With it you use one wooden sewing needle, some 100% wool yarn and a lot of confidence you can do it. I had some part polyester scrap yarn, a video or seven on YouTube and two left hands. After an hour of trial and error had a… thing. A wobbly, wonky, -absolutely not resembling the example- thing and I was so proud. I immediately ordered some wool from my favourite knit shop (as felting part polyester yarn is just a nono) and when it arrives, I will attempt a hat. Or wrist warmers, or a cowl.
