Everyone is an arse

The other day I was saying I was bored and confused with the role of software developer. But I think I may have a bit of clarity now. Maybe I’m not bored and confused. Maybe I just hate it all. I received an email from Ruby Central the other day. I can’t remember what it said. But I did remember the shit-show over the Ruby Central takeover a few months back. The way it was handled suggests that Ruby Central is populated by arses. DHH is all over Youtube at the moment, because of Omarchy and the money that’s being given to the foundation. I did try Omarchy and what I liked best about it is that it doesn’t try to work in a similar way to Windows or macOS - meaning my finger muscle-memory didn’t get in the way when using it. But, frankly, DHH is an arse. And Rails belongs to DHH. Arse. Ruby effectively belongs to Shopify now. Tobi is an arse. I really enjoy working with LLMs - but the companies that own them have hoovered up everyone’s data with no care to whether it’s legal or ethical…
