A little color, a big loss

My brother brought over a bag of vegetables from his garden. Just the right amount to elevate some dishes and add a little color to an otherwise somber day. News passed quickly through group chats, Dolly Parton had passed. I checked into the dentist that afternoon and her music was playing throughout the office. Had a nice chat about her goodness with the hygienist. I’d spend the evening drawing a butterfly while listening to her music and watching performances.
