Maybe I’m on a roadtrip It is September 2026. That is a real time, as much as “time” is a real thing, and we are living in it. “How?” you ask. Well me too, how is it September? Yesterday it was June, so I’m not sure what happened to July and August. Two days ago it was 1999 and we were all worried about Y2K. Time seems to go faster as we age. As we experience less novelty, our brains processes our mundanity quickly. Our prior experiences lead us to automatically perceive our reality. We don’t have to think too much if we aren’t doing new things. Novelty, it would seem, is the key to slowing down time. I am a master of novel experiences. Or rather, I’m really good at finding weird and random shit in the world and then talking people into experiencing that weird stuff together with me. Last week I visited the Junkerhaus, an ornate and psychotic structure with thousands of carvings and paintings created between about 1890 and 1912. While images might be worth a thousand words,…
