Day 203: Sichuan in Flushing

2026-08-28Hello!Sichuan being a region from China that I know because of its pepper, and Flushing being a neighborhood in New York City, US, that was near the US Open tennis matches.My spice tolerance isn't great, but there are so many different types of hot spice that make the world of spicy food worth exploring. Wasabi is a much different spicy thing than jalapeno, and Sichuan pepper is on its own as well. At home, I use a sriracha paste on egg or seafood dishes.The US Open was great, and I would have gone earlier if I knew it was free. I don't know much about the sport, but I appreciated the opportunity for photography that it gave me. Even if the images don't compare to Andy from Texas, who was posting about New York City and the US Open as I went, I didn't mind that much.
