I am typing this from the teachers’ lounge: the preparations for the new academic year have officially begun, and with it, the summer holiday is gone. Time is a weird concept: on the one hand, two months of school holidays felt endless in various good and bad ways, and on the other hand, I can’t even remember what we did to pass the time. A couple of bike rides, visits to the family, swimming, or something like that? When people tell us “it’ll get better”—referring to the challenges of being a young parent—that’s not very helpful as “better” is firmly placed in a distant future. Yet without fully realising it, the months fly by. How? Previous month: July 2026. Games I’ve played Nothing?
