'Twas a beautiful Cadencefest

The inaugural Cadencefest united music lovers of all ages and stages for a five-hour marathon of jams and heart. Thanks to you, we raised over $1300 for the Waikiki Community Center in support of their community efforts. Thank you to Mary Moran for believing in the dream and making this a reality. The evening was full of surprises - people like Ed Sugimoto showed up and set up extra chairs for us when we hit capacity, and Daniel Gilad, Josh Iglesia and Chaz Umamoto made the show way more pro than our little grassroots festival deserved. We all shared in the magic when Bobby Moderow closed out the night, gifting us with transcendent tunes and harkening back to those who came before us. Music does not belong to gatekeepers. Realistically we all would have overheated if we had closed the doors, but you helped prove that an event - and perhaps a world - filled with people who give freely can provide a sort of beauty that’s being taken away from us.
