My good friend, Dan, gave me a copy of these three films back in college. He swore these are amazing. As a writer himself, he knows what type of stories touch people, and I always trust Daniel’s taste in everything. But years later, I still haven’t garnered the courage to watch them. If I have to guess why, it’s probably a mixture of fear that I might feel depressed after watching it and uncertainty, will I like it now that all films I’ve been watching are either the animated movies I loved as a kid, or crime films that only got my attention in my late 20s. However, Ethan Hawke is the star in this trilogy. Ethan Hawke, the unibomber in one of my favourite films. What can go wrong? I don’t think I’ve watched any romantic films starring Ethan Hawke yet, so there’s another level of uncertainty. But, let’s see. I’m planning another crochet project soon, and it’ll be helpful to have something playing so I don’t lose my mind. Now that I’m thinking about it, I wonder what the story is about.…
