Like all great British industrialists to come before them, Sunswarm focus their sound and message on the dystopian world crawling inexorably towards us and the future steps towards annihilation. Cheery future we’ve got coming, isn’t it? Let’s dive right in. Opening track ‘Erasure’ feels like the oppressive heat of an industrial summer, scorching searing light pouring down upon you as the earth quakes beneath your feet and you struggle for breath. Sunswarm’s sound is dense, multilayered and frantic at times, like Godflesh on steroids, but the post metal guitars provide respite from that oppression with cold melodic passages weaving in between these industrial strikes.
