Recommended Ted Lasso — Strong first season; it’s easy to see why it was so hyped. Later seasons are a mixed bag (likely cause — expanding from 10 30-minute episodes to 12 45-ish minute episodes). Part of why this worked is that there is almost nothing “cringe” in the first season … but it started creeping into S2 and S3. (Because of Ted Lasso I subscribed to AppleTV, at least for a bit, and so I’m trying various shows on that to see). Zodiac — Workmanlike movie that is captures that slice of time. Excellent cast (not just top billing, but full of “Oh, that guy” character actors). At 2:40 it didn’t feel long. Maybe The Amateur — A touch too long & by the book, but … competently done. In most thrillers, you can almost alwasy ‘guess the secret surprise bad guy’ by the actor they cast.
