I just watched Kiki's Delivery Service

Cycling back in a sudden strong wind, it felt very much like the film with it's mercurial weather and flying, cycling sequences. I hadn't seen the film for awhile. I've been feeling stuck in a rut and I thought maybe the film would heal me. Which it can't do but that's ok. Seems like that other me, the cheerful and honest one, went away somewhere. It's feeling more and more autumnal here by the day. It was getting dark by the time I got home, and I'm heating some soup up on the hob. The nights are drawing in. The film is delightful and has a lot to say about finding your place in life, creative practice and just the business of living, but it also makes me sad because it seems so far away from how I live, and experience life. gifs: [1] [2] [3] [4]
