PBS Newshour has had multiple 15 minute segments about it. I'm sure several other prime time news programs have had 15 minute slots for it too. It's a sad story, there is an important legal question at play, and it brings up important things with regard to mental health and how we care for women and mothers and children. There are some important things to glean from this trial, and I think some level of coverage is warranted. But the volume of coverage is not. It's an entertainment show at this point. There are far more important and impactful things that we, voters in the U.S., need to know about. Some of that is the context around post-partum disorders, legislative history, campaigns for mental health awareness, and the like. Others are things with regard to the Iran war, the continued genocide in Gaza, the erasure of trans people in the U.S. and abroad, anti-"DEI" efforts from our federal government,… No comments yet.
