Don’t bargain with reality 0 ▲ Herbert Lui 1 day ago · Life · hide · 0 comments “You don’t get to bargain with reality,” a friend recently passed wisdom along to me. For example, you can decide to write a book, but it’s out of your control what happens after that. If you say, “I’m only writing a book if I can make good money with it,” you’re starting to bargain with reality. And reality tends not to bargain back; in the rare occasion it does, it drives a hard bargain. The phrase, “Be careful what you wish for,” comes to mind. Instead of spending so much time bargaining with reality, focus on the actual work. Get started on a project, finish it. Then start the next one.
