Empire of the Sun

I don’t know much about Empire of the Sun besides their biggest hit (so far) and unique visual style. So I went into seeing them live with an open mind and appetite for spectacle. What I didn’t expect was being the oldest person at the show for a band that debuted 18 years ago. I’d later learn they’d gotten a boost on short-form video platforms the kids use these days, and they showed up in force, excited. The band sounded great. I couldn’t tell if there were canned backing vocals or some technological wizardry going on to make it so, but it was tight. Add in dancers, costume changes, big colorful screens, lights and some aliens and a spectacle was indeed delivered. Currently Listening: Empire of the Sun “Walking On A Dream”Reply via email
