Developers keep sending me apps to review 0 ▲ Riccardo Mori 1 hour ago · Tech · hide · 0 comments In the past two months, for no apparent reason, I’ve noticed a surge in emails from Mac OS and iOS developers, offering me the opportunity to test their apps, with no obligations to subsequently write a review; they just ask an honest opinion. Very often their email would mention that they chose to contact me based on a past article I wrote, or for vague things like ‘user interfaces being important to me’. The pattern I noticed in these emails is that they all seem to follow the same format. There’s briefness, initial pleasantries, a quick description of what the app does, the offer of a redeemable code, and a concluding ‘no strings attached’ statement. I haven’t responded to any of these — except the first one, which sounded genuine, until I received the exact same email with a different free code two days after my reply. My lack of reaction isn’t out of spite or because I’m busy or because I’m not interested, or whatever. It’s much simpler: I’m currently running Apple devices that… No comments yet.
