It’s the sound of my daydreams, happiness and sadness; songs of love and heartbreak, pop guitars, strings and synthesizers. It’s the 90s, my brother and I were in school. How Do You Do? was Roxette’s new single and it got a lot of radio airplay. I successfully recorded it with our tape recorder and we played it nonstop. I liked that Per Gessle sang prominently in this one. While visiting an older cousin to play Risk, the board game, I saw he had a CD player which wowed me. CDs were high-end and expensive. We had a humble Sanyo tape recorder with no bass. And then I saw he had Joyride on CD. I asked him if he could play it. “Do you like Roxette?” he asked. I said yes. As I was singing and humming to most of the songs while we rolled the dice, he remarked, “You really like Roxette, indeed.” I don’t remember how we got our tapes.
