I think Hanna Bervoets is most well known in the English language book world for We Had to Remove This Post. I've read that one and wasn't too fond of it. But her book synopses always sound so good, so I wanted to try another one. In this book, a small group of people are working in a school building when a loud noise occurs outside. The last television broadcast that ever gets aired has a simple message: Close all doors and windows. Cover up the windows. Stay inside, never look outside. Color me intrigued! A few people, involuntarily stuck with each other, with a limited food supply and personal grudges, and the world ending in a mysterious way outside -all through the lens of an unreliable narrator. Unfortunately, it's only downhill from here. I hated this book. I regret finishing it. The simplistic writing style wasn't my thing, but I could live with that. The reader never learns about…
