I do wish they'd made some different tech decisions, and some different business structure decisions - but as companies go, and as corporate software goes, it hasn't been too bad. This week, though, they decided to abuse that trust: They announced a recurring contribution to the newly-formed Omacom Foundation, which manages the Omarchy linux distribution. That sequence of words sounds pretty tame, doesn't it? A reasonable person would wonder what could possibly be bad about that. The Foundation is reportedly meant to support the open-source ecosystem that makes Omarchy possible. Again, that sounds perfectly tame. So you, the reader, a reasonable person, may be wondering why I feel that this was an abuse of my trust. Well, it all has to do with one person. Actually, no, that's not quite right.
