Track exchange: ‘iPod Touch’ & ‘Bridge over the Stars’

A track exchange involves two people prompting each other to pen their thoughts about a track that the other has chosen for them. A copy of this note is published on James’s website. James’s pick for me was ‘iPod Touch’ from Ninajirachi’s 2025 debut record I love my computer, which introduced me not only to contemporary Electronic Dance Music (EDM) but also to the term ‘bloghouse’. This collaboration has made me realise a couple of things: one is that there are some genres I have steered clear of in my music library, modern EDM being one of them;1 the other is that I judge music by its covers, specifically tracks by titles. A cursory look back at my recent additions to my library tells me that the only time I have added oddly titled tracks to my collection is when I heard the song accidentally.
