Back up to ten thousand steps 0 ▲ Rubenerd 2 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments The last couple of months have been rough in the health department, as evidenced in both Clara’s and my sudden drop in step count and general physical activity. But we’ve now reached the one fortnight mark where we’re back up above ten thousand steps a day, and it feels great: This is still way short of my 13-15,000 step daily average from a few months ago—and 30,000+ steps a day when we’re travelling—but we’re getting there. To be clear, there is no scientific reasoning behind this specific daily step count. But we’ve found having a goal to meet every day has contributed to our health. We get off a station or two early and walk home, we go to the (much) further away coffee shop, we take the stairs rather than the lift every day, and when we’re feeling like couch potatoes at 21:00, we get up and go for a long walk to clear our heads and feel better rather than wallowing in despair and anxiety. If you take nothing else from my ramblings here, please let it be this: take a walk outside… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
