reminded of "retro" twitter

I joined Twitter back in 2008. I didn't understand it's purpose, so I abandoned it until I discovered hashtags. A few years after I joined, I stumbled upon #edchat. I began using Twitter to communicate with educators from all over the world. I started a blog, made connections, and stepped into a community. It was purposeful, and real. I met people I interacted with on Twitter at conferences, or when they were in Arizona. We shared ideas, challenges, and encouragement. Twitter is not the same. Duh. It's "X" now. #edchat is not the same. I am no longer active on Twitter, or X, or whatever. But, just this week, I had a blog post that resulted in some email communication. A chance to go beyond character limits (retro Twitter had these) and deeper than a quick online comment. People asking questions, being real, and being kind. It was awesome. I truly appreciate the opportunity to communicate, connect about shared interests, and begin building a community. It reminded me of "retro"…
