I opened the box and immediately wondered if I’d made a mistake when I ordered this board. Its skeletonized LED-lit surround screamed “gamer” at 95 dB. I stripped the transparent keycaps off and tried some TacType zirconia caps. No dice; the south-facing LEDs are too heavily lensed for that. I never found any backlit keycaps that worked well, so I outfitted the keyboard with all metal caps from Awekeys. Much better. I took stock of what I had: 75% keyboard 8KHz scanning South-facing lensed LEDs and front and side ones Hall effect, with 4mm of travel Cheap, overly light feel with the plastic caps it came with, but nice, if a bit ununiform, with the Awekeys caps. Crisp bottom-out feel. A clever volume/mute control that’s a ergonomic switch setup rather than a shaft encoder Wireless and wired connections.
