The Splendid Fairywren

It might seem a little odd for a bird's common name to be so laudatory, but there you have it — the Splendid Fairywren! If you are sceptical of the "splendidness" of this bird, here's a picture of this brightly-coloured marvel: Australia is blessed to have these little wonders and it knows it — there's even a citizen science project that focuses on splendid fairywrens. The biodiversity of this continent/country is truly amazing!
