Calls for Reviews & Essays: December 2026

ARB publishes reviews and essays on a wide range of speculative topics, including science fiction & fantasy, weird fiction, and their relation to utopian impulses. ARB is also always interested in reviews of nonfiction broadly related to those topics, written for an interested general audience. If you are interested in writing for ARB, please check out our Procedures & Style Guide, and pitch us using the form below! For reviews, here are some titles coming out in December that we’d be interested in covering! December is usually a light month for fiction titles, and this year is no exception, so this is also a good time to pitch us ideas for essays, or reviews of overlooked titles from earlier in 2026. We’d love to get some reviews of the non-fiction titles here, but please note that ARB strongly prefers that non-fiction reviewers are familiar enough with the subject to engage with the book critically.
